However, the specific date remains uncertain. Regarding AI services, this date appears to be a popular choice as well. “Interestingly, it is also the date that some AI services will indicate if queried about the timing of the next Apple launch. However, it is worth noting that while some AI tools suggest this date, others firmly advocate for September 6th or 12th,” as highlighted by William Gallagher at Apple Insider.

In my opinion, September 6 is not a viable option. It coincides with the IFA technology exhibition in Berlin. If one considers a German event to be insignificant, it is important to reconsider; IFA is comparable in scale to the prominent CES trade show held in Las Vegas. This situation leaves September 10 and September 12 as potential dates, with the possibility of Monday, September 9, also being considered. This latter date is somewhat unconventional, as Apple has never unveiled an iPhone on a Monday, yet it remains a possibility.

Gallagher reiterated, “While human intelligence suggests that Apple has the flexibility to launch at any time, the reality is that there are significant logistical challenges involved in distributing millions of iPhones. Apple possesses the expertise to manage this process, having successfully executed it numerous times in the past, and it is probable that the company will adhere to a similar operational approach once more.”

In my opinion, he rightly dismisses the earlier date of Tuesday, September 3. This date would overshadow the IFA event and diminish its significance; however, it falls immediately after Labor Day, which would require press members traveling from various parts of the country during the public holiday. Additionally, it would disrupt a long weekend for staff, both of which are likely to be met with disapproval.

This leads to another observation from Apple Insider: there is significantly greater flexibility right up until the final moments now. “In the past, when events were conducted live, certain dates, such as September 3, could be dismissed because Apple preferred to rehearse until the very day. Additionally, a noteworthy sign comes from reports indicating that Foxconn, a key player in iPhone manufacturing in China, has expanded its workforce. According to Business Korea, as noted by MacRumors, 50,000 new employees have been recruited. This increase in personnel serves as a clear signal of heightened production efforts as the release date approaches, which aligns well with the anticipated launch on Friday, September 20—further details on the dates will follow.

MacRumors elaborates on the surge in staffing: “The company has escalated production activities with its main manufacturing partner, Foxconn, located in Zhengzhou, China. This facility, recognized as the largest iPhone production site globally, is now functioning at full capacity, having onboarded 50,000 additional workers in the past fortnight.”

In parallel, mass production of the OLED displays intended for the iPhone 16 series has been accelerated, as reported by ET News, with Samsung expected to manufacture 80 million units while LG is projected to produce 43 million.

The significance of this information lies in its implication that the production of the iPhone is proceeding as planned, indicating that no delays are expected at this point. If this assessment holds true, it strongly suggests that the iPhone 16 series will likely be available for purchase in September.

The anticipated date for the keynote presentation, which will reveal the new hardware alongside the Apple Watch Series 10 and potentially new AirPods, appears to be consistently set for Tuesday, September 10.

As is typical with Apple, there is an element of unpredictability, so it would not be surprising if the date shifts either a day earlier or a few days later. However, it is certain that September 11 will not be the chosen date, as Apple has historically avoided this day due to its association with the 2001 attacks.

With everything seemingly on track, it is expected that pre-orders for the devices will commence on Friday, September 13, with the iPhone 16 officially available for sale on September 20, the following Friday.

These key dates for pre-orders and sales appear to be firmly established, even if the keynote presentation is adjusted by a day or two.
