Neeraj Chopra Olympic 2024 – Arshad Nadeem‘s mother expressed her affection towards India’s Neeraj Chopra following their achievement of securing the top two positions in the men’s javelin throw final at the Paris Olympics.

While discussions of rivalry between Arshad Nadeem and Neeraj Chopra frequently arise within the realm of sports, the reality is one of mutual respect and affection. Following their impressive 1-2 finish in the javelin throw final at the Paris Olympics, social media was abuzz with narratives highlighting their friendship. Notably, Neeraj’s mother, Saroj, expressed that she regards Arshad as if he were her own son. In a similar vein, Arshad’s mother has conveyed her feelings, stating that she views Neeraj in the same light as her own child.

He is akin to my son. He is a friend of Nadeem and also considers him a brother. Victories and defeats are inherent to sports. May God bless him and grant him success in winning medals. They share a brotherly bond, and I have also prayed for Neeraj,” stated Arshad’s mother during an interview.

“I express my gratitude to the entire nation of Pakistan for the support extended to Nadeem and for the prayers offered for my son.”

Arshad has made history as the first athlete from Pakistan to secure a gold medal in an individual event, while Neeraj has distinguished himself as only the third Indian and the first in track and field to achieve consecutive individual Olympic medals.

“We are extremely pleased with the silver medal; the athlete who won gold is also our child, and the one who earned silver is likewise our child… all are athletes, and they all put in tremendous effort,” Saroj expressed to PTI Videos in Khandra, Panipat, where the family resides.

“Nadeem is also talented; he performs admirably, and there is no distinction between Neeraj and Nadeem. We have secured both gold and silver, which holds equal significance for us,” she further stated during the interview.

Despite their competitive nature on the field, both Chopra and Nadeem share a strong friendship off it. Neeraj has, in fact, provided support to Nadeem on numerous occasions.
